General information about the DOSAR 2005 Workshop.

Who

An overview of DOSAR can be found on the DOSAR webpage, or from Horst Severini's DPF2004 talk.

What: Workshop Themes

Planning DOSAR Evolution

DOSAR has been a very productive component of D0 computing, and stands as a successful example of implementing the D0 computing model.  However, as the research groups that comprise DOSAR become increasingly involved in separate, competing experiments (namely CMS and ATLAS), we need to rethink how DOSAR should look and function - even if it can exist as a single coherent group in such an environment.  An evaluation of what common tools and strategies we can develop and employ in the LHC era will be a focus of this workshop.

Producing Physics Remotely

A recurring theme of DOSAR workshops is how we can promote D0 analysis done within DOSAR.  We will continue to investigate ways to enhance the productivity of remote data analysis.

When

The DOSAR Spring 2005 Workshop will be held March 31 - April 1, 2005.  Please see the Agenda Page for a more detailed schedule.

Where

The DOSAR Spring 2005 Workshop is being hosted at Ole Miss, the University of Mississippi.  Ole Miss is located in Oxford, Mississippi about  one and one half hours southeast of Memphis, Tennessee.  The main campus sites for the workshop will be the Physics Department in Lewis Hall, and the videoconference room in Old Chem, located directly across the parking lot from Lewis Hall.  Please click on the campus map below to be directed to the University's navigable campus map site.  Click on the map of Oxford to go to Yahoo's interactive map of Oxford.

Weather

The weather forecast for the workshop is here. Unfortunately, it looks like we got a couple of rainy days in the middle of a stretch of beautiful spring sunshine.
